Another Invitation Into Holy Week

By Ferial Trammell

Dear Eucharist Church,

What a beautiful time we had this past week with our Palm Sunday service! Holy Week is my favorite time in the church calendar year. There is so much to experience in such a short amount of time. From feasts to betrayals, suffering to celebration--Jesus leads us through the rollercoaster of his last earthly days and into the culmination of his resurrection!

As Fr. Jeff exhorted us last week, we hope that you will prepare and lean in with us this Holy Week. Practically speaking, I wanted to send out a note with more details about what to expect for our services this week.

  • PARKING

    • We are so grateful to report that we are now able to utilize the first 10 parking spots on the right side of the parking lot in addition to our usual left side of the lot! This new arrangement began this past Palm Sunday, includes our Holy Week evening services (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Great Easter Vigil), and will continue Easter Sunday and all Sundays moving forward! We hope the addition of these new parking spots will be greatly beneficial for our growing congregation.

  •  Maundy Thursday, April 6

    • Communal meal at 6pm: feast with us in commemoration of Jesus's Last Supper with his disciples.

    • Service begins at 7pm: music, footwashing, & the Eucharistic liturgy.

      • No formal children's programming; staffed nursery room available to children 4 years old and younger.

  •  Good Friday, April 7

    • Mid-day Prayer Service: 12pm

    • Prayer Vigil | Stations of the Cross | Priestly Confession Available: 12:30pm - 7:00pm

    • Tenebrae Service: 7pm

      • No formal children's programming; staffed nursery room available to children 4 years old and younger.

  •  Great Easter Vigil, April 8

    • Service & Baptism: 7pm

      • No formal children's programming; staffed nursery room available to children 4 years old and younger.

    • Desserts & Drinks Potluck following the service

      • Plan to bring a sweet treat or a drink to share!

  •  Easter Sunday, April 9

    • No Catechesis

    • Worship Service begins at 10am

    • Regular Eucharist Kids classes will take place during the service

    • Celebratory refreshments following the service

  •  Eastertide Potlucks

    • Plan to join us and contribute to (4) different Eastertide Potlucks that will take place at the church directly following worship: Sundays, 4/16, 4/30, 5/7, and 5/21.

Here's to a Holy Week! I hope to see you at all the things. :)

With anticipation,

Ferial
